WHERE ARE YOU SPRING?????

The weather is still not co-operating and the migration seems to have come to a stand still. Went a drive we stopped in at the Hiawatha Horse Park and found a group of Blue Wing Teal as well as numerous Canada Geese and 3 Killdeer.

Carrying on we ended up at Wawanosh where we found again some Blue Wing Teal swimming with some ruddy ducks and American Coots in the first pond.
While walking down between the two ponds we saw 2 killdeer running along the edge.
The Kingfishers are back and the pair where doing aerials around us. They are such fun to watch. An Eastern Phoebe also made an appearance.

The coolest thing to watch was an American Kestrel swooped down and nail a Song Sparrow. The speed with which he came down was exceptional
In all it was a slow day!
